The Killing is an adaptation of a Danish TV crime drama viewing three perspectives of a murder which happened in Seattle. In the opening episode of the show, Det. Sarah Linden’s last day in homicide finds her investigating the disappearance of a 17-year-old girl who was supposed to be spending the weekend with a friend from school but it turned out that the girl has gone missing, mysteriously. When the girl’s parents learned that she didn’t show up for class on a Monday morning, they launched their own search for the missing girl, and when words gets out about her, a mayoral candidate cancels a forum planned at the high school.
